How this actually goes

2. They check with your vetAnd with your landlord, if you rent, to confirm pets are allowed.
3. An adoption counselor callsThey call the families that fit this particular animal. Not everyone gets a call.
4. Meet, then a sleepoverYou meet at the foster home, then a minimum seven-day sleepover before anything is final.

It takes days, sometimes weeks. They match an animal's personality rather than working through applications in order.

Adoption fee for Birdie: $200. Non-refundable, and it covers vetting.
